2001 現實數學教育研討會:荷蘭與台灣

壹、緣起

本研討會是依據我國行政院國家科學委員會(NSC)與荷蘭科學研究組織(NWO)所建立的「中荷雙邊科技合作協議」架構,為擴大雙邊科技交流研究,所召開的中荷雙邊研討會。NWO社會科學委員會Dr. L. H. STRONKHORST推薦荷蘭烏垂特大學Freudenthal Insititute研究員Koeno Gravemiher先生為荷方召集人,國科會則委由台師大林福來教授擔任我方召集人,雙方召集人經一年的籌畫,兩國間的雙邊研討會第一次由我方主辦。

貳、目的

          一、促進台灣與荷蘭的雙邊科技合作。

          二、在全球化、國際化趨勢下,進行中西兩種不同文化傳統下數學教育研究發展的比較。

          三、推動台灣與荷蘭雙方數學教育合作研究計畫。

參、重要性

我國學生在國際數學評量上成績優異(例如:TIMSS),但國內有識之士深感我國數學教育仍有待改進之處;而荷蘭在現實主義下所發展的數學教育研究在國際上備受重視。台灣與荷蘭的數學教育上各有其擅長處,透過深入的研討可將兩個國家的研究當做個案互相對照,找出各自可再發展、改進的空間,為全球數學教育的研究發展,貢獻一個國際研究的案例。
