I received my B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Mathematics from
National Taiwan Normal
University in 1990 and 1993, respectively. In Fall of 1997,
I attended UCLA to pursue
my Ph.D. degree. I only stayed one year over there and transferred
to Mathematics Department ,
University of Washington
in 1998 where I spent six years to study with
Prof. Paul Tseng in Optimization. Then, I came back
to my alma mater for an assistant professor position in Fall of 2004
and was promoted to be an associate professor since August of 2007.
My research areas are mainly in continuous optimization and mathematical
programming, with side interests in nonsmooth analysis and operations research.
My free-time interests include swimming, playing ping-pong as well as
going hiking.
