Jein-Shan Chen (陳界山)
I am currently a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Mathematics at National Taiwan Normal University, where I received my B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in 1990 and 1993, respectively. In the fall of 1997, I entered the Department of Mathematics at UCLA to pursue my Ph.D. studies. After one year, I transferred to the Department of Mathematics at University of Washington in the fall of 1998, where I spent six years studying optimization under the supervision of Prof. Paul Tseng. My research focuses primarily on continuous optimization, with additional interests in nonsmooth analysis and operations research. For more information, please refer to my profiles.
